I am a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Economics (and partly with the Economics Department) at the University of Minnesota. My main research fields are International Trade and Development Economics, with a secondary interest in Public Economics, Economic History, & Machine Learning. I am particularly interested in topics related to trade policy, trade barriers, global production, poverty, and inequality reduction.
My current research focuses on Free primary education policy on welfare outcomes in Ethiopia; Income inequality reduction through progressive taxation, universal basic income, and targeted cash transfer in South Africa, and Brexit and Global Value Chains beyond the UK and the EU.
I am on the 2021-2022 job market and will be available for interviews at the 2021 European Job Market and the 2022 ASSA Virtual Meetings.
